Designers are wonderfully talented at recognizing the joy and pleasure of visual communications, yet seemingly disinterested, or unaware, of the importance of strong business tactics to ensure excellent working relationships with their clients. Strategic design is more than just a client interview and a briefing strategy. This talk will address the sometimes difficult subjects of pricing, terms and conditions, payments, and the flotsam and jetsam of paperwork required to see a project through from start to finish with success.

Johnathon has decades of experience and involvement in the creative industries, generating positive results for the people and organizations he works with. As principal of his own design studio, a mentor, an educator, and an advocate for creativity, he is committed to encouraging growth as well as change in the creative and applied arts. Johnathon is a past president of CAPIC Vancouver, VP Business Practices CAPIC National, and is currently President of the vibrant GDC BC Chapter.
